The Egyptian volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat against hosts Cuba in pool C of the 2007 World League. The home side registered its second victory in two days over a young Egypt side, with three straight sets 25-18, 25-22 and 25-19. Egypt are third on 2 points, in a group that includes leaders Cuba, Russia and Serbia. Egypt missed some key players including Treviso star Abdullah Abdul-Salam and the injured Hossam Al-Shaarawi. "We have a very young squad, and we really missed Al-Shaarawi against Cuba," Egypt captain Ashraf Aboul-Hassan told a press conference after the game.
