Zamalek secured the Basketball Championship title after beating Gezira 66-56 on Monday night in Cairo Stadium to win the trophy for the first time since 2002. The Whites dominated the game especially in its first three quarters as the first one ended 23-12, the second 43-26 and the third 62-36. The fourth witnessed a big recovery from the defending champions, Gezira, as they scored 20 points holding on Zamalek to only four but that was not enough as the game ended on a 10 point lead to the new champions. The victory keeps Zamalek safe on top of the table with 36 points 2 ahead of Ahli and with only one match to go. Both sides will be face to face on Tuesday night but there will be no pressure as the title is already decided. The Whites showed an excellent performance this season as they won all of their matches in the championship until now.
