FIFA president Sepp Blatter is adamant that South Africa remain the host nation for 2010 World Cup, despite his recent hints of a possible alternative. "It will take place in South Africa...I have no doubts. The plan B is South Africa, plan C is South Africa," Blatter told journalists on Wednesday. Blatter's comments come after he told BBC TV on Monday that United Stated, England, Spain, Mexico and Japan are all on standby in case South Africa fail to fulfill their duties. But the Swiss justified his words by claiming that the chosen alternatives are just in case of unexpected circumstances. "It would be a bad organizer who did not have a reserve for a crisis. It is necessary to know there are countries able to put on the World Cup...without two or three years for preparation," he said. Blatter also responded on the absence of any African country from the reserve list, despite it being the Dark Continent's turn for organization. "They (Africa) will need time when we are already in a time constraint in South Africa so to start again in a country that is not fully equipped now would be difficult."
