Barcelona forward Lionel Messi kept his feet on the ground after notching a spectacular goal in his side's 5-2 victory over Getafe in their King's Cup semi-final first leg on Wednesday. The Argentinean prodigy scored the second after a superb solo effort, similar to what compatriot Diego Maradona did against England in the 1986 World Cup. "I heard that people compared my goal to Maradona's one, but my objective is to continue learning," Messi was quoted as saying by Spanish daily Marca on Thursday. The 19-year-old winger collected the ball from his own half, skipped through two defenders and continued his march towards the opponents' area. He sidestepped another two before entering the 18-yards box where he rounded the keeper and slotted into the empty net. "I saw the space and went for it as I always do. I saw Samuel (Eto'o) was in a good position to do a one-two as I neared the area but with two defenders nearby, so I took it on myself," Messi wished speedy recovery for football legend Maradona, who was admitted to hospital for alcohol addiction. "Diego has always backed me and I hope he gets well soon. The whole of Argentina wants him back well again because we miss him."
