Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has announced on Saturday that Zamalek's league game against Harras Al-Hodoud, which was called off on Friday, will be played in an unspecified date. The match was due to take place at 7 p.m. Cairo local time but sudden problems in the lighting system forced the referee to cancel the encounter. Al-Hodoud coach Tarek Al-Ashri demanded his team to be awarded the match with a 2-0 score as Zamalek are responsible of any game at their own venue. However, the EFA decided to re-schedule the match to undecided date.
"We checked the reports of the referee and the Ministry of Electricity and found that Zamalek are not responsible of any damages in the lighting system," EFA official Nayef Ezzat said. "The EFA will hold a meeting with both clubs to settle on the new date of the match." The Cairo Stadium's officials disconnected the current minutes before the kick-off after smoke erupted with undetermined reason. Minister of Electricity Hassan Younes insisted the decision to disconnect the current was to ensure the safety of the spectators.
