Liverpool, Eindhoven post easy wins to go through
Published in FilGoal on 01 - 11 - 2006

Liverpool crushed Bordeaux 3-0 while PSV Eindhoven eased past Galatasaray with a 2-0 victory to clinch their place in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool and Eindhoven are joint leaders of Group C on ten points each but the Reds are ahead on the number of goals scored.
At Anfield, Luis Garcia posted a brace to set Liverpool on track to their third group victory.
The Spain international sent an unstoppable left-footer in the 23rd minute after a neat cross from Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard turned scorer in the 72nd minute when he curled home a brilliant volley.

Kone celebrating his goal
Garcia put the icing on the cake four minutes later when he robbed the ball in the midfield and advanced to bury the ball past the hapless Bordeaux keeper.
In Holland, Timmy Simons and Arouna Kone scored after the break to finish off ten-man Galatasaray.
Galatasaray defender Stjepan Tomas was shown a straight red card in the 38th minute after bringing down Jefferson Farfan who was in a scoring position.
Simons headed home one minute before the hour mark after Phillip Cocu's initial effort was denied.
Ivory Coast's Kone sealed the win when he scuffed a loose ball before rounding the goalkeeper and firing home.
