Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was delighted with Paulo Ferreira's performance during the 2-0 victory over Fulham in the Premiership on Saturday. Mourinho lavished praise on Chelsea defender Ferreira who filled in the center-back position usually occupied by injured team captain John Terry. "You decide the man of the match but for me, in my dressing room it was Paulo, because he played for the first time in central defence," Mourinho told Sky Sports after the game. Mourinho claimed it was Ferreira's versatility that allowed him to succeed in various positions on the pitch. "He is a team player and an intelligent player, ready for everything you need from him. Playing against Collins John is not easy and playing against McBride together with Helguson is not easy." Mourinho was very ambiguous about his skipper's recovery, insisting he was not sure if Terry will be able to make the UEFA Champions League game against Levski Sofia on Wednesday.
John Terry "Today he is worse than yesterday, tomorrow maybe he is the same or better," Mourinho said. "Yesterday he felt something in training, something in his back. We thought it was some muscular spasms and it was getting worse during the day. "The medical department was with him before he went to bed and this morning he could not really walk. The muscles are very tight," he said. The Portuguese manager was also glad to see his stand-in captain Frank Lampard excel. "I think he (Lampard) needs to know that he is one of the best players in the world and he needs to know always," said Mourinho. Lampard, who has come under heavy criticism lately, struck the two goals that won the game for the Blues. "Not just when he is scoring but he has to know even in the bad days. When he knows that he is amazing," the Portuguese added.
