Furious Mourinho wanted Ghaly red card
Published in FilGoal on 06 - 11 - 2006

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho hit out at referee Graham Poll after his team lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premiership on Sunday.
Mourinho was furious that referee Poll sent-off Chelsea skipper John Terry with the score tied at 1-1 after Michael Dawson's header in the 25th minute cancelled out Claude Makelele's opener in the 15th minute.
Spurs capitalized on their numerical advantage to score the winner through Aaron Lennon after Poll showed Chelsea skipper the red card in the 70th minute.
"Instead of looking at the ball when Drogba scores Graham Poll notices a John Terry foul 20 meters away. It's fantastic, his vision is perfect, amazing,” a sarcastic Mourinho told reporters after the game.
"I don't understand why John Terry was sent off," Mourinho added. "I've seen it on TV and I can't find a reason for that.”
The Portuguese manager insisted referee Poll was not fair to his team over all.
"He sends John Terry off for pulling at Ledley King in the box and keeps Hossam Ghaly on the pitch when he elbowed Michael Essien in the face."

Mourinho went on to hint that the veteran international referee was out to destroy his team.
"Two matches with him and five points we've lost," said Mourinho. "We didn't deserve to lose, but we lost and afterwards Mr. Poll goes home and nobody can ask him the reasons for his decisions.
"Referees should come to the press conference to explain their decision instead of you asking me," he added.
While Mourinho was critical of Ghaly's aggression, Spurs boss Martin Jol was full of praise for the Egypt international.
"In my midfield Hossam Ghaly was new to The Premiership had an outstanding performance,” the Dutchman told Sky Sports.
He also recognized the rest of Tottenham's heroes.
"Robbie Keane was probably man of the match and Michael Dawson and Ledley King did ever so well but we had so many other players who did well.
