Al-Gaish registered a 2-0 victory over Zamalek in the Egyptian League on Friday, to hand the Cairo giants their second defeat of the season. Hossam Abdul-Aal grabbed a shocking lead for Al-Gaish eight minutes from time, before Hassan Mousa sealed the victory in the stoppage time. The result put Al-Gaish in fourth place of the league table with seven points while Zamalek, who lost the league opener to Ghazl Al-Mahalla, are in sixth place on six points. Early in the first-half, Zamalek tried to break Al-Gaish's resilient defense through long-range shots. After just one minute, Walid Abdul-Latif fired a powerful shot that went just over the bar before a left-footed strike by Youssef Hamdi five minutes later went wide. In the 29th minute, Amr Zaki collected Tamer Abdul-Hamid's neat pass inside the area but his shot went poorly into Al-Gaish keeper Gharib Hafez's hands. In the second-half, Zamalek continued to dominate in terms of possession but rarely threatened Gharib Hafez as Al-Gaish were comfortably playing in their own half while trying to make counter attacks. Hazem Emam was awarded a free-kick on the edge of the area in the 71st minute, Osama Hassan stepped-up and unleashed a drive that hit the woodwork. Abdul-Aal stunned the crowd in the 82nd minute when his deflected free-kick went into the net past Zamalek keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef. Mousa sealed the victory in the stoppage time from the rebound after Ernest Papa Arko's initial effort struck the crossbar.
