Tirage au sort de la Ligue d'Europe : Chelsea et Barcelone encore ensemble

Le tirage au sort de la Ligue des Champions d'Europe a eu lieu le jeudi soir à Monaco. Au groupe A, Chelsea et Barcelone se retrouve pour la troisième saison consécutive dans le même groupe aux côtés de Werder Brême et Levski Sofia (Bul).
Groupe B. L'Inter Milan aura un sérieux rival qui est la Bayern Munich et devra moins s'inquiéter de Sporting Lisbonne et Spartak Moscou.
Groupe C. Liverpool a été placé dans le même groupe que Galatasaray, Bordeaux et le PSV Eindhoven.
Groupe D. L'AS Rome de Mido devra se mesurer à Valence, Olympiakos et Shakhtar Donetsk.

Groupe E. La Real Madrid se trouvera confronter au quintuple champion de France, Lyon, Dynamo Kiev et Steaua Bucharest.
Groupe F. Manchester United affrontera les ambitions de Celtic, Benfica et le FC Copenhague.
Groupe G. Arsenal aura de grands efforts à déployer contre le FC Porto, CSKA Moscou et Hambourg.
Groupe H. L'équipe d'Ahmed Hassan, Anderlecht, devra se mesurer à l'AC Milan, Lille et l'AEK d'Athènes.
Durant cette même cérémonie, l'UEFA a décerné les prix de la dernière édition de la Ligue des Champions. L'allemand d'Arsenal, Jens Lehman, a reçu le trophée du meilleur gardien, et le trio de Barcelone, Carlos Puyol, meilleur défenseur, Deco, meilleur milieu, Samuel Eto'o meilleur attaquant, autre que Ronaldinho qui a été nommé meilleur joueur de la dernière édition.
