Egypt ended their World League campaign without a single victory after losing 3-0 to Bulgaria in Cairo on Sunday. This was Egypt's 12th successive defeat in the tournament in which the African champions were making their debut. Egypt were not even close to winning one game, falling to the guests 25-20, 25-19 and 25-16. Bulgaria's victory gave them Group D summit and a ticket to the last eight while Egypt remained in fourth and last place. The Pharaohs finished the campaign second from bottom, leading rooted China with game difference.
