Italian veteran striker Alessandro Del Piero said he wishes to take part in Germany's clash on Tuesday in the World Cup semis. Del Piero has been used as a substitute so far except during the 1-0 victory against Australia in the round of 16. "I don't know yet if I'm playing, but I hope to see some action at some stage," Del Piero told FIFAworldcup.com. "I've played in lots of important games in my career, but Tuesday's is something else, a unique occasion. A World Cup semi-final is enough to excite and motivate anyone." Italy, who scored nine goals in this campaign, will face a tough test against hosts Germany who managed to keep a clean sheet in three of their five games. If the Azzuri beat Germany, they will be in the final game of the World Cup for the first time since 1982 when they clinched their third title. Yet, the Juventus captain refused to judge Italy's campaign at this point. "It's too early to say whether this World Cup has been a success or not for me personally. Let's wait until it's all over," Del Piero said.
