Palermo expressed their interest in signing Juventus captain Alessandro del Piero, joining Milan and Inter in the race for the veteran striker. The Italian international has been at the center of Serie A sides' attention since his club announced that he might be leaving in the end of the season. "I would sign Del Piero tomorrow morning," Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia. "I wouldn't be able to pay his wages, but if there were sponsors who could help our door is open." Both Milan giants are reportedly targeting the Juve icon, who started to go down the pecking order in favor of new-signing Vincenzo Iaquinta.
