Juventus announced that captain Alessandro Del Piero has signed a new contract with the Serie A club, which should keep him in Turin until 2010. Del Piero, whose contract was to expire at the end of the current season, put pen to paper for a new deal with the Black and White after a long period of negotiations. The Juve legend put an end to speculation linking him with an exit from the club where he spent over ten seasons, scoring more than 200 goals. "Today I made a decisive choice for my career and my life. Juventus have given me a lot and I want to continue winning here," he was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia. The 32-year-old forward scored 21 Serie B goals last season to help the Bianconeri bounce back to the top flight after their infamous match-fixing scandal.
