Real Madrid presidential candidate Arturo Baldasano pledged to sign England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson as the team's coming head coach if he was elected as the new club president. The Swede tactician will be quitting his post as England boss after the World Cup after a five-year period in command. "My team have spoken with Eriksson and he has given a commitment that if I win the elections he will come and coach Real," Baldasano told Spanish magazine Marca on Tuesday. "He's an important coach with the right kind of characteristics to do well and build a great team," Baldasano added. The Spanish lawyer, who will be running for presidency for the third time after he was beaten by former president Fiorentino Perez in the 2004 elections, also promised a number of major changes in the club during his current campaign, including the acquisition of Real Betis winger Joaquin and Arsenal's Jose Antonio Reyes. Real's presidential elections will be held on July second, after Perez stepped down last February following the team's failure to grab any major trophy in three years.
