Eriksson confident ahead of World Cup

England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson said that he is confident of making his dream of reaching the World Cup final come true and voiced his trust in all the English team members.
"I'm at the top of the ski jump and I dream to land in final in Berlin on July 9th,"Eriksson was quoted as saying by Sky Sports Network.
"Today's team is stronger than four years ago and we have a real opportunity to win it."
Eriksson confirmed that he already has England's staring lineup set in his mind and that the team he chose for the finals will be starting in the coming friendly games against Hungary and Jamaica.
"If everyone is fit for the first game in the World Cup, I know my team, but if someone is tired or has a small injury we won't risk and play him in the friendlies," Eriksson said.
With striker Wayne Rooney out at least of the group stage due to injury, Eriksson was reportedly considering a switch to a five-midfielder formation, but the Swede insisted that he won't change his playing style.

"We will start the competition with a 4-4-2, my midfield is built with Joe Cole on the left, Gerrard and Lampard in the centre and Beckham on the right, then we'll see match after match," he said.
Eriksson, who is set to leave the England hot seat after the World Cup, said that he has had a great experience since he took charge of the team in 2001.
"I've loved each day that I've spent with the England team," he said. "The press can write what they want about me, they won't change at all what I am."
The former Lazio and Sampdoria coach highlighted his desire to reward the English fans for their great passion and support with a World Cup glory.
"At the weekends I go to stadiums and I see people coming one hour before the game, talking about football and singing under the rain and freezing cold," he said.
"This is incredible, this is England, and people here deserve to experience the ultimate emotion again."
England play in Group B with Sweden, Paraguay and Trinidad and Tobago.
