Egyptian cable TV station Dream and Saudi network Orbit made bids for the broadcasting rights of domestic football competitions next season, the Egyptian FA said. The two stations have each submitted an EGP 2.5 million offer to air the Egyptian League, the Egyptian Cup, the Super Cup and the national team's games, FA spokesman Medhat Shalabi said. The agreement will allow local national TV to broadcast the games, Shalabi added. The offers were discussed with Ahli, Zamalek, Masri and Ittihad Alexandria and the FA is expecting another two bids from Arab Radio and Television Network (ART) of Saudi Arabia and Qatar's Al-Kass channel. If any of these deals goes through, the FA will impose an EGP 100.000 fine on any club that allows other TV stations to record or air parts of their games. The revenues will be distributed according to how many matches will be aired for each club. Ahli and Zamalek will get the top profit with each of them capable of selling 15 matches at least per season. Airing 15 matches will help each club earn EGP 800.000, with an option to increase the profit if the rights were sold to more than one station.
