Ronaldo could play in Middle East – report
Published in FilGoal on 20 - 05 - 2006

Real Madrid striker Ronaldo is in talks with some Arab football officials over a move to Qatar or the UAE next season, Spanish paper Marca said on Saturday.
Ronaldo is in Dubai on a vacation and the sports daily said the Brazilian international is there for business as well.
"Several Sheikhs approach Ronaldo with luxurious proposals to play in the Arab World next season whether in Qatar or the United Arab Emirates," Marca said in their unsourced report.
The paper added that Ronaldo's trip to Dubai confirmed reports that he was contacted by Arab soccer officials last week.
The 30-year-old said earlier this season that he is considering a move out of Real Madrid because he doesn't feel welcomed by the fans despite his efforts with the team.
Ronaldo has been Real's top-scorer for the past two years, and he is leading the team this season with 14 goals.
He will be leading Brazil's attack in the World Cup in Germany hoping to tie Gerd Muller's all-time record of 14 goals in the global event.
If the report turned positive, Ronaldo will be the latest of several world class players who have played in Qatar in their 30s.
Dutch international brothers Frank and Ronald de Boer played for Al-Rayyan, French World Cup winner Marcel Desailly featured Al-Gharafa, Argentina's legendary striker Gabriel Batistuta joined Al-Arabi and Spanish veteran midfielder Josep Guardiola had a spell with Al-Ahli.
