Ismaili have denied reports claiming that Ahmed Fathi signed for Ahli and stressed that he is staying at the club till at the least the end of the next season. "Fathi's contract with Ismaili ends in June 2007 and he has no right to open talks with other clubs," club's interim president Yahia Al-Koami told FilGoal.com on Sunday. Al-Koami said he has been in talks with the Egyptian international to extend his contract beyond 2007 as he is considered one of Ismaili's key players currently. Media reports said on Sunday that Fathi is on his way to join the Egyptian and African champions. Neither Ahli nor Fathi commented on the reports. Fathi, who plays in different midfield and defense positions, said earlier this season that he eyes a move to Europe rather than playing for Cairo giants Ahli or Zamalek. The 22-year-old was a member of Egypt's squad that won the African Cup of Nations in February and played a pivotal role in steering Ismaili to the Egyptian League title in 2002.
