Enppi lost the Arab Champions League (ACL) when they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at home against Raja Casablanca in the first leg, coach Taha Basri said. "The defeat in the first leg at our venue proved to be decisive in determining the outcome of the final," Basri told Filgoal.com after the second-leg in Morocco on Saturday. Raja Casablanca were crowned as Arab Champions after beating Enppi 3-1 on aggregate. The Egyptian coach said that given Enppi's short age since it was established, the second spot in the ACL is satisfying. I consider being the ACL runners-up is a good achievement," Basri said. "We have been playing football for 21 years now, and this is the fourth season for us in the Egyptian Premier League." "I don't regret excluding five of my players before the return-leg for disciplinary reasons, I recalled one of them, Osama Hassan, to take part instead of injured Samir Sabri," he added. Enppi were awarded $600,000 for finishing as runners-up, in addition of $50,000 due to fair play. Basri said that the departure of Enppi former striker Amr Zaki to Lokomotiv Moscow had a negative influence on his side's performance, stating that if he didn't leave Enppi could have won the ACL.
