Scans showed on Tuesday that Ahli midfielder Mohamed Barakat won't need to undergo surgery after damaging ligaments in his right knee, the club said. Barakat will need to follow a special training program during his five-week layoff then he will be ready for the rest of the season, an Ahli source told FilGoal.com. The Egyptian international picked up the injury during his side's 1-0 victory over Harras Al-Hodoud in the Egyptian League. Barakat scored the winner himself in the 35th minute after he was set-up by Mohamed Abou-Treika. Meanwhile, Ahli will head to Kenyan capital Nairobi on Wednesday to play Tusker in the round of the 32 in the African Champions League. Injured players Barakat, Osama Hosni, Mohamed Shawki, Wael Riyadh and Angolan striker Flavio Amado were left out of the 19-man squad named for the game. The second-leg will be staged in Egypt two weeks later.
