Ahli midfielder Mohamed Barakat will be sidelined for up to five weeks after damaging knee ligaments, the club said on Tuesday. Barakat torn internal ligaments of his left knee during Ahli's 1-0 victory over Harras Al-Hodoud in the Egyptian League but he will undergo further scans later on Tuesday, a spokesman for Ahli told FilGoal.com. The international winger has just returned from a four-week layoff due to a groin injury. He started against Al-Hodoud on Monday and managed to game's only goal before leaving the pitch in the dying seconds. Ahli have been hit by a string of injuries in the recent weeks with international players Mohamed Shawki, Wael Gomaa, Osama Hosni and Gilberto collecting different knocks that kept out of action. The narrow victory over Al-Hodoud gave Ahli the league summit on 41 points, just two ahead of arch-rivals Zamalek and still have two matches in hand.
