Wadi Degla and Ismaili achieved positive results in the CAF Confederation Cup first round on Sunday. Playing their first-ever continental match, Degla claimed a 1-1 draw at Togo's Douanes in Lome. The Egyptian side were in front through a goal by Ethiopia striker Saladin Said before Douanes equalized from the spot. In the same round, Ismaili held DR Congo's Etancheite to a goalless draw away. The return legs take place in Egypt next week.
