Round-up: Egyptians overseas
Published in FilGoal on 03 - 09 - 2013

Performance of the week
Egypt striker Amr Zaki was the only foreign-based Egyptian on target this week, marking his debut for new club Al-Salmiya with a goal in the 4-0 Kuwaiti league thrashing of Yarmouk.
Zaki put the icing on the cake with his side's fourth of the night, his first goal since scoring for Zamalek in a Champions League game at Ivory Coast's Africa sports dating back to April 2012.
The rest
Elsewhere, Mohamed Salah was introduced on the hour mark in Basel's 2-1 Swiss league home win over Young Boys, with the Egypt international contributing to his side's winner after going one goal down.
Salah's Egypt teammate Mohamed Elneny, however, remained as an unused sub throughout the game.
In another Swiss League fixture, Mahmoud 'Kahraba' didn't have the best of games with Luzern, who slumped to a 4-1 drubbing at St. Gallen, as the Egypt youngster featured for the last 18 minutes of the match.
In Portugal, Ahmed Hassan 'Koka' couldn't make the difference for Rio Ave, who conceded a last-gasp goal to lose 1-0 to Arouca, with the Egypt striker replaced with six minutes remaining.
In another Liga Sagres match, defender Ali Ghazal featured for just 27 minutes for Nacional in the 3-2 win at Belenenses.
In England, Ahmed Elmohamady retained his place in Hull City's starting eleven, featuring for the whole game in the 2-0 Premier League defeat at Manchester City.
Conversely, Egypt center-half Adam El-Abd was confined to the bench throughout Brighton's Championship 1-1 home draw with Millwall despite being a regular for his side last season.
Fiorentina defender Ahmed Hegazi has been ruled out of the 5-2 Serie A thumping victory over Genoa as he is still nursing a knee injury, but is expected to make his comeback next week.
Lierse duo Hossam Ghaly and Ahmed Samir Farag played full 90 minutes in their side's 0-0 Belgium league stalemate at Mechelen.
In Saudi Arabia, Ibrahim Salah enjoyed a stunning night with Orouba when the newly-promoted club sprang a surprise by beating giants Ittihad Jeddah 1-0 at home, with the Egyptian starting the game.
