Ahli's bid to put back the Champions League game against Orlando Pirates has been officially turned down by CAF, the Cairo club said on their website. The reigning champions were hoping to move the August 4 fixture five days so as to avoid playing their South African visitors during the month of Ramadan. Now after their request has been rejected by the African football governing body, Ahli will have to look for another venue than Gouna Stadium to hold the game at night. The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw by city rivals Zamalek in Hurghada last week, with Egyptian authorities insisting on holding no games in Cairo or Alexandria.
