Zamalek snatched a hard-fought berth to the CAF Champions League group stage after drawing 2-2 at Ethiopia's Saint George to qualify on the away-goal rule. Burkina Faso forward Abdoulaye Cisse was the hero for the Whites, scoring two headers in the first and last two minutes of the game. Goals from Shimelis Bekele and Isaac Isinde saw the hosts lead until the 88th minute when Cisse notched in the all-important goal. Perfect start, frustration and dramatic end Zamalek made a perfect start when Cisse headed home a terrific cross from Sabri Rahil in the second minute. But after the impressive assist, Rahil was guilty of a poor piece of defending that allowed Bekele to volley home the equalizer in the 14th minute. The Ethiopians gained momentum and were denied the second goal when Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed foiled a volley. But the Zamalek keeper could do nothing with the next volley smashed home by Isaac Isinde before the break. As the Ethiopian outsiders looked set for a shock win, substitute Hazem Emam outpaced his marker and sent in a pinpoint cross for Cisse, who made no mistake from two yards out to send the few Zamalek fans at the stadium into raptures.
