Hull City suffered a crucial 1-0 home defeat to close rivals Watford in the English Championship. A 41st minute goal by Troy Deeney condemned Steve Bruce's side to their second home defeat in a row. Hull remain in contention for an automatic place in the Premier League next season as they are still second, but the win helped Watford reduce the deficit to just one point six weeks from the end. Egypt duo Ahmed Elmohamady and Geddo started for Hull, with the latter substituted in the 69th minute. Once again, Ahmed Fathi remained on the bench for the 90 minutes at the KC Stadium.
