Zamalek have requested a registration exception from FIFA for former star Shikabala after he was released by UAE's Al-Wasl this week. Shikabala has been dropped from Al-Wasl squad before the Dubai club had agreed to rescind his loan deal by mutual consent. Even though he remains on Zamalek books, the 26-year-old is ineligible to re-join his parent club after the January transfer window had closed. But the Whites said they have requested an exception to re-register Shika via the Egyptian FA, according to the ‘regulations of FIFA'. Shikabala was loan-listed by Zamalek last season following an infamous touchline row with former manager Hassan Shehata. The Egypt international is unlikely to be included in the Pharaohs squad for next month's World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe, given his uncertain status this term.
