Essam Al-Hadari has made himself available for international selection only a couple of days after announcing his retirement. The 40-year-old goalie said he decided to quit international football following the friendly defeat to Chile, which saw him dropped to the bench for Sherif Ekrami. However, a meeting with FA officials seems to have convinced the Merreikh keeper that ‘his presence with the Egypt squad is of high importance'. “I have listened to what FA chairman Gamal Allam and his assistant Hassan Farid said to me about the importance of being with the national team during the World Cup qualifiers," Al-Hadari told the FA's website. “I consider myself a servant for the national team and now I am under the management's command anytime." Despite his turnaround, Al-Hadari's future with the national team is still unclear as head coach Bob Bradley has yet to comment on the whole issue. It has been speculated that Al-Hadari's recent stance was in the wake of a rift with goalkeeping coach Zaki Abdul-Fattah.
