Unanswered questions: Police are investigating the kidnapping of a three-week-old baby from a private clinic in el-Ismailia. The little girl's mother, Naglaa (29), reported her missing at Mashtoul el-Souq Police Station. She told detectives that her 22-year-old ex-husband had taken their daughter, with the help of her brother. The brothers told staff at the clinic that they were taking the newborn to see their family. Naglaa then rang her ex, who told her that she'd never see their daughter again. The couple only got married last December, after many problems. They moved into a flat in el-Ismailia. In February, she realised that she was six months pregnant. Her husband was very angry, denying that he was the father. Two months ago, he divorced Naglaa. Shortly after the kidnapping, someone went to the police and said that they'd seen Naglaa's ex husband's brother carrying a small baby, getting out of a taxi at the bus station in Mashtoul el-Souq. The brothers were arrested and denied taking the little girl. They have both been released on bail. So where is she? Wasn't it curious that it was only after being pregnant for six months that Naglaa realised that she was in the family way? Drugs death: Two brothers stabbed their other brother in a violentargument over drugs in Mina el-Bassel, a rough neighbourhood of Alexandria. Mohamed Thabet, a 36-year-old worker, died in Alexandria University Hospital of his injuries. International case: The East Cairo Prosecutor and the authorities in the United Arab Emirates are co-operating in a case involving an Egyptian man who worked as a driver for a company in the UAE and is suspected of killing two men there, having handed in his resignation. The day after the murders in March, the suspect flew home to Cairo. The authorities here first learned of the crime, which happened on March 12th, from Interpol. The two victims were from India and Bengal. It is thought that the Egyptian suspect, Khaled Rashad, and three of his colleagues murdered the Indian and the Bengali. They also stole a large quantity of diesel from the company and sold it for 10,000 dirhams. The other three suspects flew to Cairo with Khaled; all four had worked for the same Emirati company for four years. Like Khaled, the others resigned in February and obtained their exit visas, before they killed their victims, outside the company premises. The other three have also been arrested. Khaled's lawyer asked the Prosecutor to release his client on bail, as he turned himself in at e Mataria Police Station of his own free will, but that wish has not been granted. Khaled denied killing anyone or stealing from anyone. He said that he'd worked since 2006 for a company in the UAE that makes reinforced concrete blocks. Khaled added that he'd decided to resign and come home because he hadn't been paid.
