The trial of a young man suspected with killing the daughter of a Moroccan singer and her friend was deferred to June 13 as the victim's husband gave his testimony Thursday. "The hearings will resume on June 13. The lawyers will start their defence as of the next session," the court said. Defendant Mahmoud el-Essawi, who was sentenced to death last year before the Cassation Court, Egypt's highest judicial authority, ordered a retrial for him, had pleaded not guilty of killing Heba el-Aqad, the daughter of Moroccan singer Leila Ghofran and her friend Nadin Gamal Eddin. The court heard Ali Essam, Heba's husband, who said he had married her against the will of her family.
