EGYPT'S First Lady Ms Suzanne Mubarak Saturday opened the historic Street of el-Moez Ledin Allah in Islamic Cairo after massive renovation. The kilometre-long street is the oldest in Cairo, dating back to 1,000 years. Mrs Mubarak also opened the Textile Museum in the same area, featuring textile relics dating back to different historical eras. Moreover, she visited the nearby Sultan Qalawoun Mosque, which has recently been renovated. The historic area has been encircled with 11 electronic gates as part of an ambitious plan to protect the city's monuments.
