Egypt's winger Sayyed Moawwad vowed to teach Algeria a lesson in the African Cup of Nations' semi-finals on Thursday, in the wake of the Pharaohs' 3-1 win over Cameroon Monday night. There has been a hostile relationship between Egypt and Algeria since November's World Cup decider that the Desert Foxes won 1-0. The game was followed by severe clashes when Algerian hooligans allegedly assaulted Egyptian fans. The unfortunate post-match incidents are far from forgotten. Now both teams will face each other again in Angola after Egypt went through. “The next game will be on the pitch away from any troubles, but we will teach the Algerians a lesson in football,” Moawad told the Egyptian radio after the game. “We want to prove that we failed to qualify for the World Cup only because of certain circumstances. “We want to keep cheering up the Egyptian fans.” Algeria reached the Nations Cup semi-finals after beating Côte d'Ivoire 3-2 Sunday night.
