SOUTH AFRICA - Egypt beat South Africa 1-0 on Saturday to finish second in Group A at the 2011 African Youth Championship, which is enough to put them into the semi-finals and qualify them for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia later this year. Mohamed Hamdy Zaky scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute, and the North Africans held on to defeat the hosts at Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg. Mali drew Lesotho 1-1 also on Saturday to win the group and set up a contest in the last four against the runners-up of Group B on 28 April. Egypt will face the Group B winners on that same day for a place in the final. Along with Mali and Egypt, Cameroon have already qualified from Group B and sit atop the table with six points. Nigeria, Ghana and Gambia all remain in with a shout to join the trio in Colombia from 29 July to 20 August for the finals.
