Syria authorities release Egyptian citizen

BEIRUT - A relative says Friday that an American who was detained for a week by Syrian authorities has been released.
Mohamed Radwan, 32, was released Friday and will fly to Cairo. His cousin, Tarek Shalaby, confirmed the release.
Radwan and another American were picked up during an unprecedented wave of protests in Syria.
Syria's state-run news agency alleged that Radwan had "confessed" to selling photos and videos of demonstrations to a Colombian woman.
Radwan is from Austin, Texas. He holds dual citizenship from the US and Egypt.
The other American was still being held. Pathik "Tik" Root, a Middlebury College student from Ripton, Vermont was detained while he shot photographs at a demonstration March 18.
