CAIRO - A Cairo court will hear next month a lawsuit to dissolve the formerly ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) and expropriate its offices across the nation after former President Hosni Mubarak, its ex-head, stepped down. "The South Cairo Civil Court will decide on the case to dissolve the NDP on April 12," a judicial source said, adding that expropriating the offices of the party is not unlikely. Lawyer Noura el-Farra, the claimant, asks in the lawsuit for the court to decide which authority could then be asked to oversee the activities of the NDP in case of dissolution. "The reasons of the NDP to remain in existence are now over. Its presence, however, jeopardises the national unity," el-Farra said.
