CAIRO, Sept 29, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for Multilateral Affairs and International Security Ihab Fawzi on Friday took part in a United Nations event to launch "The Missing Peace: Independent Progress Study on Youth, Peace and Security" The event was held in New York on the sidelines of the 73rd meetings of the UN General Assembly. Fawzi delivered Egypt's speech on behalf of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, reviewing the most important features of the upcoming second edition of the World Youth forum, slated for November 3 to 6 in Sharm El Sheikh. He said that Egypt is keen to abide by Security Council resolutions on youth, peace and security agenda, especially UNSCR 2250, the first resolution entirely dedicated to recognizing the importance of engaging young women and men in shaping and sustaining peace. "Cairo attaches great importance to youth and supports their role in achieving sustainable development, building peace and combating extremism and terrorism," he added.
