CAIRO, Sept 28, 2018 (MENA) – Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry highlighted Egypt's keenness on taking all needed measures to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians. Addressing The Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) on coordinating aid to Palestinians, held on the sidelines of the 73rd UN General Assembly meetings, Shoukry asserted the importance of helping achieve Palestinian reconciliation in order to pave the way for a just and lasting peace in the region. According to foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid, Shoukry reiterated that any steps on the humanitarian level shall coincide with a planned program able to deal with any emergencies in the West Bank and Gaza Strip on the political level. A would-be plan of action shall be under the command of Palestinian legitimacy in order to help prevent further deterioration on field and allow entrenching a better peaceful future, he made it clear.
