QENA, Upper Egypt, Sept 27, 2018(MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected on Thursday Dandara Temple in the Upper Egypt governorate of Qena. Madbouli was accompanied by Antiquities Minister Khaled Anani, Local Development Minister Mahmoud Sharawi and Qena Governor Abdel Hamid el Haggan. Anani briefed the premier and the accompanying delegation on the history of the temple which goes back to the Graeco-Roman era. Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Moustafa Waziri explained to them the restoration work which had taken place at the temple. Madbouli, meanwhile, inspected a development project for cultivation and reclamation of lands at El Marashda Village in the Upper Egypt governorate of Qena. The prime minister checked as well the water lifting station at the 125,000-feddan project. Qena Governor Abdel Hamid el Haggan explained work progress at the project in light of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives on distributing available plots of land in El Marashda area to people who are most in need in the village. Haggan pointed out that 2,445 feddans have been allocated for 978 residents of El Marashda. During Madbouli's tour of El Marashda, Haggan highlighted efforts of upgrading the canals which feed the project in order to pump water into the waterways as soon as possible. Haggan also reviewed a number of services available at the project's area.
