CAIRO, August 28, 2018 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli presided over a meeting of the economic ministerial committee to resume a debate on several proposals to reduce the external and internal public debt. The meeting is attended by the Central Bank of Egypt governor, as well as the ministers of social solidarity, investment and international cooperation, petroleum, supply, planning, tourism, finance and trade. During the meeting, the prime minister stressed the importance of outlining a draft medium-term strategy to reduce the public debt, taking into consideration the Egyptian economic performance. The State's efforts to reduce the public debt aims at shoring up Egypt's economy and improving its performance indexes, Madbouli said. The meeting also reviewed the current economic situation and future economic scenarios in the coming five years.
