CAIRO, August 9, 2018 - It's been confirmed that Bafana Bafana starlet Phakamani Mahlambi has no future with African powerhouse Al Ahly. The former Bidvest Wits winger made history in 2017 when he became first ever South African to play in the Egyptian Premier League, but has struggled to make a starting berth at the Red Devils his own and has been the subject of much speculation whether he was set for a return to the PSL. Al Ahly's director of transfers Mohamed Fadl has revealed that the 20-year-old's request to leave the club was approved, but whichever team is interested in securing his services will have to fork out considerably more than what the eight-time African champions paid to facilitate his move there. Meanwhile, European sides Udinese and Villarreal are interested in signing Al Ahly young midfielder Nasser Maher, according to France Football. The 21-year-old spent the last two seasons on loan at Petrojet and Smouha, before returning to his parent club this season, starting Al Ahly's two opening games against Ismaily and Al Masry. And according to France Football, Maher could be on the move again, as Udinese, Villarreal, and several Ligue 1 clubs are intent on signing the Egyptian starlet. Nasser Maher is not the first Al Ahly youngster to be wanted by Udinese, as Ahmed Hamdi was so close to signing for the Italian side after a trial, but the deal fell through.
