CAIRO, July 27, 2018 (News Wires) - Egyptian giants Zamalek have announced the signing of Tunisia international Ferjani Sassi on a three-year deal from Saudi side Al Nassr. Sassi was linked with a move to Zamalek for quite some time now especially after his impressive performances during the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The Esperance academy graduate played 100 games for Tunisian side Club Sfaxien scoring nine goals and provided seven assists. He then moved to French club FC Metz where he played 40 games across two seasons scoring just one goal and assisted twice. The 26-year-old then returned to Tunisia to join Esperance, where he spent a one-and-a-half year and scored nine goals and provided five assists. And just six months before the 2018 World Cup he joined Saudi giants Al Nassr. Sassi has 44 caps for Tunisia during which he scored four goals and his most recent one came against England in the World Cup. Zamalek president made sure to thank Saudi sports minister Turki Al-Sheikh for helping the club complete the transfer as he paid most of the expenses. He became Zamalek's tenth signing of the summer with other notable names joining the club such as Moroccan striker Hamid Ahadad of Difaa Al Jadida, Ismaily duo Ibrahim Hassan and Bahaa Magdy and Omar El-Said from Wadi Degla.
