Club Sfaxien were crowned Tunisian champions for the first time since 2005 on Wednesday after defeating Club Africain 2-1 in the final phase of competition. They trailed to a 41st-minute goal from Club Africain's forward Jodel Dossou but Ferjani Sassi brought Sfaxien level four minutes later before defender Thameur Salhi scored the winner in the 58th minute. They finished the final mini-league round with 12 points, one ahead of second-placed Esperance. Former Egypt and Zamalek coach Ruud Krol guided Sfaxien to their eighth league title in the club's history and the first since 2005.
