Staff report: CAIRO, July 24, 2018 - In fresh directives to the government, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Tuesday called for expedited action to upgrade the healthcare system and elevate the quality of its services. The presidential directives came in the course of a meeting that President Sisi called with Prime Minister Dr Moustafa Madbouli, the Health Minister Dr Hala Zayed, the minister of finance, and the chairman of the Administrative Control Agency, the Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said. The meeting had been called by President Sisi to review the latest developments pertaining to a comprehensive plan for upgrading healthcare system within the framework of the state drive to elevate the standards of the healthcare services provided to citizens, Ambassador Radi said. During the meeting, the prime minister and Dr Zayed reviewed with President Sisi the progress of work in applying a new system for upgrading state-run hospitals, eliminating the patients' waiting lists, and detecting and treating hepatitis C cases across the nation.
