CAIRO- Egyptian lawyers gear up for the third hearing session of an appeal filed by two jailed colleagues in a high-profile assault case that has triggered a sharp dispute between the lawyers and the judges. A court in the Nile Delta town of Tanta will Sunday hear the appeal filed by the two lawyers Saa'i and Fattouh whowere sentenced to jail for five years for assaulting prosecutor Basem Abul Roos. Their case has prompted lawyers to stage a nationwide strike. The defence lawyers for them, led by Hamdi Khalifa the chairman of the Bar Association, are expected to meet later Saturday to mull their strategy in Sunday's hearing, according to sources at the influential union.
