CAIRO, June 18, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt's Minister of Civil Aviation Youness Al Masry inspected Monday Hurghada international airport, as part of a series of inspection tours and follow-up visits to Egyptian airports. This visit comes after the minister inspected Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh international airports over the past two days to check the security procedures applied and the progress of development projects at both terminals and the level of services provided to passengers. The minister inspected the departure and arrival halls of terminals 1 and 2 to learn about the airport's capacity of passenger traffic, in light of the intensified international and domestic flights currently being witnessed. During the visit, he followed up on the security situation and the additional procedures that were implemented in coordination with the concerned authorities at the airport. He also inspected the baggage screening equipment inside the departure and arrival halls, as well as following up on the procedures taken with arriving and departing passengers. In addition, he listened to a detailed explanation of the operation of the new security system (ctx) installed at terminal 2 in accordance with the international security standards. At the conclusion of his visit, he stressed the need to provide all necessary measures in coordination with all concerned parties within the airport to ease procedures for passengers.
