CAIRO, June 8, 2018 (MENA) - National Council for Women (NCW) headed by Maya Morsy thanked Friday former prime minister Sherif Ismail over his support to women's issues in the past period. In a statement, Morsy underlined that Ismail had faced many challenges during his tenure as Egypt's prime minister, adding that he sought to improve the situation of Egyptians in all fields. She underscored that during his tenure the cabinet included six female ministers, pointing out that his tenure also witnessed the appointment of the first Egyptian female governor, which reflects the government's confidence in the capabilities of the Egyptian women. Morsy also thanked Ismail over the fruitful cooperation between the NCW and the government in various fields, particularly in the implementation of the 2030 strategy of empowerming Egyptian women. She also congratulated Dr. Mostafa Madbouli over assuming the prime minister post, hoping that the Egyptian women would take over new posts.
