CAIRO, May 31, 2018 - Egypt's stocks were battered by local and Arab selloffs in high volumes on Thursday. The benchmark index EGX30 plunged 2.06 per cent to 16,414.53 points. The broader indices EGX70 and EGX100 shed 0.56 and 0.98 per cent to 842.66 and 2,138.24 points respectively. Volume totaled LE3.4 billion (around $191.5 million), market data showed. Locals and Arabs were net sellers of LE74.6 million and LE164.7 million respectively. Non-Arab investors were net buyers of LE239.37 million, bourse data showed. The EGX50 and EGX20 Capped indices fell by 1.61and 2.13 per cent to 2,819.74 and 16,667.05 points respectively. Of a total 189 traded stocks Thursday 23 shares rose, 129 fell, 37 remained unchanged, market data showed.
