CAIRO, May 16, 2018(MENA) - Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed el-Assar conferred on Wednesday with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit to discuss means of enhancing co-operation with Arab countries. During the meeting, Assar asserted the importance of enacting a co-operation protocol that was previously signed between the National Organisation for Military Production (NOMP) and the general secretariat of the Council of Arab Economic Unity (CAEU), an affiliate of the Arab League, with the aim of benefiting from the relative privileges, technological and technical potentials and know how in all kinds of industries in every Arab state. Assar highlighted the technological potentials and technical expertise of the companies affiliated to the Military Production Ministry, pressing the need for directing such potentials to the implementation of joint projects with the various unions and companies working under the umbrella of CAEU. Abul Gheit, for his part, highlighted the role of the Military Production Ministry in the industrial field, adding that its potentials should be utilised to encourage industrial entities and companies in various Arab countries to integrate and create new industrial partnerships that could serve the common interests of Arab peoples.
