CAIRO, March 7- A co-operation protocol was signed on Wednesday between the National Organisation for Military Production (NOMP) and Wadi El Nile for Contracting & Real Estate Investments with the key aim of boosting joint co-operation in manufacturing smart electricity meters. Attending the signing ceremony, Minister of Military Production, Mohamed el-Assar, remarked that both parties agreed on increasing the local manufacture of products by making full use of available technological and production capabilities of the ministry's companies. They also agreed on exchanging expertise in the so-called meter data management technology and the local manufacture of diverse types of smart meters according to international standard specifications. In a related context, Minister el-Assar pointed out that the ministry is contributing to the national development projects in co-operation with public and private sectors. Representatives of the ministries of electricity, housing and petroleum attended the signing ceremony.
